Meet the DoctorsBrian R. Summers, DMD, PhDBrian R. Summers, DMD, PhD, is an Oregon native. He grew up in Rickreall, just north of Albany, and graduated from high school in Eugene. He earned a bachelor's degree with honors in biology from the University of Oregon. Prior to becoming a dentist, he earned his PhD in developmental biology at Stanford University. Fulfilling a lifelong passion for dentistry, Dr. Summers changed careers, and earned his dental degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He completed residency training in general dentistry in Meridian, Idaho, working closely with dental specialists in numerous fields. This advanced training allows him to provide a wide variety of procedures, including IV sedation, implants, root canals, oral surgery, advanced dental restorations and hospital dentistry. Dr. Summers joined the practice of Patrick V. Hagerty, DMD, in Albany and worked alongside one of the area's most respected dentists for two years before taking over the practice in 2015. He now focuses on the treatment of patients with sleep apnea and TMJ disorders. He also has expanded the hospital dentistry program started by Dr. Hagerty for treatment of patients with special needs and medical complexities. In his free time, Dr. Summers enjoys fishing, cooking, running, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Rebecca, have two young children who keep them constantly on the go. Membership:

Patrick V. Hagerty, DMDBorn and raised in Albany, Dr. Hagerty started the practice in 1986. The emphasis, besides providing high-quality family dentistry, was hospital and implant dentistry. He created the largest private hospital dental practice in Oregon, which has been expanded and grown with the addition of Dr. Summers to the office in 2013. Furthermore, his expertise in implant dentistry has made him one of the most sought after dentists in the state. Dr. Hagerty left private practice in 2015 to join Oregon Health & Science University, where he was an assistant professor tasked with the job of restarting the hospital dentistry residency program. 2019 brought his return to private practice as Calapooia Family Dental continues to grow. In his free time, Dr. Hagerty enjoys cooking, skiing, and fishing. |
